I noticed Travis' build on gitit is failing after fe50da5. I created a branch from the last unfailing commit in Build #6 - ickc/gitit - Travis CI, and it is still failing. So the failing is not from the code but Travis (probably something upgraded?).

So I took a look, and decided to copy the pandoc's travis setup to here. Almost everything is identical to the jgm/pandoc#3304, except that gitit doesn't seem to have tests and benchmarks so I removed them.

One enhancement from pandoc is the use of cache: each build was taking about 20min, and now takes only about 3 min.

While gitit is not frequently updated, improving its Travis setup at least eases any potential further development it might receives.
